In accordance with UK Government regulations, Backyard Cinema reopens its doors on 17 May, bringing 56 tonnes of sand to the biggest cinema-cum-indoor beach in the UK.

Held at Capitol Studios in Wandsworth, Backyard Cinema has two immersive destinations – L.A. Nights and Miami Beach, bringing the movies – and the sand – of America to London.

Sip cocktails at Miami Beach’s Flamingo Bar, while singing along to Grease and MAMMA MIA!, or go Back to The Future – surely the right title for a post-lockdown movie experience.

Alternatively, board Backyard Airlines and fly to sunny Los Angeles with L.A. Nights., where Kinky Boots, Jurassic Park and The Bodyguard will screen.

Dominic Davies, founder and creative director of Backyard Cinema, says, “It is fantastic to be reopening in May, we cannot wait to invite people back to Backyard Cinema and to reunite our community once again at Capital Studios.

“Our cinematic experiences will return bigger and better, and we are thrilled to be showing new releases alongside our very favourite classic films. This summer we are turning Backyard Cinema into the ultimate holiday destination, with two huge indoor beaches, and cocktails around every corner we’ve got you covered this summer.”
